Schopenhauer’s doctrine states that, outside a realm in which space and time obtain there can be no differentiation: all must be one and undifferentiated - a connection with Parmenides and his doctrine that “All is One”. As a recipient of the Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes Scholarship in 1995, de Mont lived for some time in Germany and associated with artists of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Intrigued by the works of Joseph Beuys, a significant change occurred in the direction of her art. The fact that the body is never absolutely still fascinated her to project a unique concept in its method and application, based on her personal experiences and artistic foundation. Uniting painting, dance and live music - A fusion of three visual art forms on to her canvas in front of an audience. She translates the aesthetic and exerted energy of the human form. The perceived energy is marked by the amalgam and orchestration of music. The unity is captured in a sheer glance and flows through her brush, while her paintings inherit the dimensions of time and space.

De Mont has staged her performances in collaboration with professional dancers, composers and musicians in Australia and internationally. Her visual dialogue displays a lyrical interpretation of a creative process in which the psyche plays a role in a fine balance between her artistry and self-spontaneity juxtaposed with precision. Her ideology has pushed her artistic boundaries without reservation.
